The reason Clare and I started the Do Lectures was because we were curious to find out why some people reach their potential, and others do not.
The last ten years of listening to hundreds of speakers, and applying what we had learnt to our own lives and businesses, showed us that there were techniques, methodologies, and ways of thinking that can make a genuine difference. And yes, help you make that breakthrough.
I have always wanted to do this seminar, but as an introvert, I had always held back.
So, we tried this seminar in a 1-day form in 2017 to Beta test it.
I wanted to know if this thing would be useful, practical and deliver results.
Of course, it will take time to know that for sure. But the emails, we have had. Oh boy. (I have included some of the testimonials at the bottom.)
It was enough for us to realise that doing this was no longer ‘we should do this’ but ‘we must do this’.
So here goes.
I hope you can come and join us.
What Will You Learn?
1, Why changing a little will change a lot.
2, What drives you? What is stopping you?

Who Is This For?
You could be running your own business and understand for it to grow, you will have to grow first.
You could have a great career but have a yearning to do something else.
You could have raised some wonderful children and be thinking what is next.
You could be repeating the same mistakes and just need some tools to help you.
You just want to learn how to get better at being you.
You have said ‘one day’ too many times.
You want to say goodbye to your old self.
When we start sorting our sh*t out, something happens. We feel we have taken control of our lives. And, it feels good. It's empowering. And it feels like at long last the words have stopped, and the action has begun. And then each day, things just get better.
You may have tried to make a change before, but for whatever reason, it just didn't stick. But, Breakthrough only happens when the desire is strong, and the techniques used to understand the human brain and how best to hack it. Old habits require new thinking.
The Do Lectures has spent the last ten years listening to some of the most incredible speakers on the planet. They have shared their secrets and provided clues on how to Breakthrough when you feel stuck, or if you are on the cusp of making an important change.
This will be an incredible three days. Things will never be the same again.
You Are Not Late For Anything.
Did you ever, you know, say the words?: "It’s too late for me."
Even for just the teeniest-weeniest briefest of moments?
Did you ever want to run to the top of the nearest mountain and scream:
Haven’t you? Honest? Really?
Did you ever see your friends do well and a little part of you thought: Oh boy, secretly I wish that was me?
Did you ever feel time flying by while progress seemed to be slowing down?
Did you ever think how the heck am I only here?
Did you ever think, well, you may have to get a Plan B?
But what if you have been telling yourself the wrong story?
Oh boy, if you only knew.
What if you are not stuck?
And what if you are not late for anything?
What if your best ideas, happiest times, best moments actually lay ahead of you.
What if you could learn how to get out of your own way? Just imagine what you could do.
What if you could Breakthrough?
This seminar has been ten years in the making. It does not rely on inspiration or motivation alone, but rather it pulls in pioneering thinking from leading human behaviour studies around the world. And, provides you with simple ways to apply them to your daily life.
Our desire to Breakthrough has always been strong, but the techniques we've used to make it happen have been weak. And so, mostly, we fail. But what if we learnt better methodologies, and applied them? Then we would start to see the results that we crave.
This January a lot of people will make New Year’s Resolutions. And by the first week of February between 70-80% on average will have given up on them.
It turns out willpower isn’t the best tool to break a habit. And yet each January we use the very same technique that didn’t work the previous year. And yes, we all know how that ends, right?
Willpower Is Sugar.
It gives you a short burst of determination, but then it runs out of steam. Habits are hard to break because they have become a part of daily lives over a long period. Habits need a better technique than willpower alone can provide.
Design, Hack, Build, Maintain The Life You Most Want.
But what if you could learn a set of techniques, practices and methodologies that could deliver the Breakthrough you most want in all parts of your life?
What if you could design, hack, build and maintain the life you most want?
This three-day seminar is all about getting our act together. Because when we do that, everything gets better. There is magic when we decide and act.
Three Pillars of Mastery.
To master ourselves there are three strengths that we need to gain. Unless we master them, we will not become the best version of ourselves. We will find Breakthrough hard to achieve.
Think of them as three legs on a stool.
Each one is required to be of equal length and strength. And therefore, of equal importance. So, when we sit down on it, it is balanced. This allows us to concentrate on doing our best work we have ever done.
They allow us to concentrate on the problem in front of us, not underneath us.
1, Emotional fitness.
2, Physical fitness.
3, Financial fitness.
Lots of people go to a gym to make their body stronger. But what if each day you learnt how to make yourself emotionally stronger? What if you joined a gym for the mind.
f you want to be strong in mind, you need to be strong in body. How do you make your default to find time so that you make your body stronger, more flexible, leaner each day?
There will be those who are asking why is financial fitness one of the legs. It’s the thing we least want to talk about, and the thing we most worry about. That’s why.
Our relationship with money isn’t always healthy. If we are paid a lot, we tend to spend to that new level. We often think we need to work crazy hard to make money, and yet if we look at when we made the most money, it was a small moment of inspiration.
If we are going to argue with our loved ones, there is more chance it will be about money than any other single thing. Money is the biggest cause of stress for people.
Selling time can and does indeed help you earn a high income. But you are selling time. Your most limited resource. And time doesn’t scale. Isn't that a truth?
So, what do you have to do to become a master of your money?
1, Spend less than you earn.
2, Save a set amount each month.
3, Understand the magic of small actions.
4, How to choose a great financial advisor.
6, Create assets.
7, Have a 6-month money safety-net.
8, Be an investor, not a consumer.
9, Start now.
10, Make your money make money.
(I will be going in-depth on cryptocurrency as this will be the future of money. And I want you to understand a grasp of it before the future arrives.)
Crisis Makes for a Great Editor.
The technical term for this moment is this: S.O.S.O.
Sort Our Shit Out.
We are more likely to want to change if we have to. If we have no choice. A turning point in our lives is helpful because it forces us to make a change. Humans don’t like change. They will do anything to avoid it. Having these moments in our lives is important, even if at the time they were the worst of times. It turns out the worst of times help us find the best of times.
The Destination Needs To Be Known.
Most people know when they go to a train station, where they want to go to. Almost 100%. But most people can’t say the same of their career, their business or even their life. And because we have no clear goal, we end up in a place we didn't want to be in. And then say to ourselves with surprise: "This isn’t where I want to be."
To Change Your Life, You Must First Change Your Habits.
We are the sum-total of our habits. So how do we take control of what we repeatedly do? Because what we repeatedly do shapes our days, our bodies and our minds. But breaking a habit is harder than just carrying on with it. Habits are created over time, and we don’t even know they are habits until we try and opt out of them. Opting out is hard. Why does it take on average 66 days to break a habit? Some take shorter. Some take longer. But a deep understanding is needed to break a habit. Willpower won’t do it.
"We Make Our Habits. Then Our Habits Make Us."
The mistake most people make is trying to change a behaviour and not the person you need to become to make the new habit stick. Imagination is the superpower to changing new habits. Why? Because 95% of habits are sub-consciously driven (right brain). Basically, we don’t even think about them. We just auto-pilot them. To change them, we try and use the left brain. The odds are not stacked in its favour. We need to imagine the person we need to be before we can make the change happen.
What Makes You Cross?
This is one of the best and simplest ways to break a habit. Jerry Seinfeld's productivity secret is better known as ‘Don’t break the chain’. Spend some amount of time doing the desired activity every day, when you do, cross off that day on a calendar. This creates a chain of X’s showing your progress. The more X’s there are, the more motivated you are to keep going. This effect is called loss aversion. Basically, we haven’t come this far to only come this far. The progress is visible. And it’s addictive, in a good way.
To add some spice to this, over a 90 day period of not drinking, switching my phone off for 12-hour stints, and meditating each day, I would put £5 in a box. In the box are matches and a photo of something I was saving up for. If I fail, I would have to burn the money. If I succeed, I would have a bunch of money towards something I wanted. Both stick and carrot.*

“It’s been great seeing the conversations that have come out of that weekend since then, and testing out various elements from the course in my own life.”
“Thank you so much for all your hard work and for everyone there for making us feel so welcome and valued. I can honestly say that the Breakthrough 3 days have changed my life. I returned to my world having shed long held emotional luggage and, just as important, carrying a trunk load of practical and achievable tips on what to do next.
Two actual things:
I have done literally hundreds of push ups (every time I take a pee, awesome!) and it already seems alien not to do one without the other;
During my first 10 minute morning quiet time (before taking tea to my wife) on Monday, my mind unravelled the roots I had wrapped around a work problem and suggested it was time to confront the one thing I was hiding from. I did it that day and I was literally liberated. My interest and passion for my work has returned. At the meeting I was controlled and in the moment and negotiated a truce and an amicable way forward for us all.
But there's lots more - going to bed every night at 10.30, making decisions, not using my in box as my to do list, breathing, running, reframing situations, acting on ideas, being positive about almost everything! I am driving my family mad. I had my kids researching block chains on Sunday! So, let's see how I'm doing in 12 weeks, then 6 months and on from there. For now, thank you DO people. You are super cool.”
“Just wanted to say a huge huge thank you to everyone at Do.
It really did feel such a privilege to be there. Loved the interactiveness of it – being forced to work with other people and each one of them having something different to offer to whatever we were working on. I keep thinking back to conversations and small dawnings of awareness and smiling. Loved all the presentations and the talks – especially Katie Elliott (who magically managed to say everything that was in my head).
An especially huge thank you for the super organising and the food – oh wow – just amazing – I have stalked as many people as I can on Instagram and liked things on their pages – what talent! That soup on Friday was just sha-mazing!
Oh and to Donny – what a master – my shoulders are still feeling good even after driving and being back at the desk.
And to keep you in the #tinyhabits loop – I started my calendar today – 30 minutes walking in the Forest. I try to do it most days but weekends and school holidays I find it easy to skip. I’m 22 days into 30 days of yoga and finding 15 minutes of quiet time helps get clarity for the day; I have also managed to find time to focus on side projects and finances every day – haven’t bitten the bullet on the crypto currency yet as it is waaaay confusing so dedicating some time for research. Oh! And I have “stay curious” on my lock screen on my phone.”
