The Present Is A Beautiful Gift
Designer of Smart Socks & winner of the Scientific American Science in Action Award in 2014
“You are you. You are a miracle. We are all miracles who happen to be here today, who happens to be learning from each other at this conference. You are occupying one of the greatest silvers of time of this vast thing that we call history. You are living in the 21st century. The era of most progress that has ever occurred in the world. You are incredibly lucky to be who you. To be where you are.”
Kenneth tells us about Smart Socks and why he accepts things the way they are. The present is a beautiful gift.
At the age of 15, Kenneth designed a smart device for his grandfather, who has Alzheimer's disease. An invention that caught the eye of both the media and awards programs such as the Google Science Fair for his pair of smart socks, designed to send an alert to a caregiver if a patient gets out of bed. In 2014, he won the $50,000 Scientific American Science in Action Award.
